Pool Enclosure Contractors in Naples
Ranked by Real Permit Data

A screen enclosure in Collier County is a $9,000 to $25,000 decision, and it is the last thing standing between your new pool and the first mosquito season. Most “best of” lists are built from ads, reviews, or paid placement.

This page is built from 13,836 aluminum structure permits filed with Collier County between January 2020 and June 2026, matched against the Property Appraiser tax roll so every permit is tied to a real parcel, ZIP code, and community.

No paid placements. No sponsored rankings. Just who is actually pulling permits, where, and how quickly the cage follows the pool.

We Matched 10,060 Pool Permits to Their Screen Enclosures

Nobody tells you when the cage shows up. So we joined every residential pool permit in Collier County to every aluminum structure permit at the same address and found that the single best predictor of how long you wait is not your cage contractor. It is whether your pool builder already has one.

Builders who send most of their cage work to one partner deliver in a median of 71 days. Builders who shop it around take 148.

Ranking based on permits pulled January 2024 through June 2026 (5+ permit minimum). Full permit history since January 2020 is available on each contractor's profile page. Contractor names are consolidated across license changes and DBA variants and simplified for readability (legal suffixes removed). Declared value is the applicant-stated construction value on the permit, not a contract price.

Finding 01

About two-thirds of new Collier pools get a screen enclosure

Matching pool permits to aluminum structure permits at the same parcel, and allowing every pool a full 24 months to have its cage permitted, 68.8% of residential pools in Collier County end up with an enclosure. But that county-wide figure hides two very different purchases.

89.5% vs 55.9%

When a production builder owns the lot, the pool gets a cage nearly nine times out of ten the enclosure is written into the build spec. When a local homeowner orders the pool themselves, it happens barely half the time.

Every Collier pool needs a barrier before it can be finaled

Collier County requires an approved pool barrier to be in place and inspected at the same time as the final electrical inspection, before the pool can be filled and signed off. In practice that means a screen enclosure, a compliant fence or wall, or an approved safety pool cover and pool alarms are inspected alongside it, not instead of it.

So the 55.9% figure is not a measure of who bothered. It is a measure of which barrier homeowners chose. The rest went with a fence, or already had one: an existing compliant fence or a dwelling wall that encloses the pool satisfies the requirement without any new permit, which is why larger properties show far lower enclosure rates. Pools on lots under a third of an acre take the enclosure route 73% of the time; between 0.60 and 1.20 acres, only 42%.

Finding 02

The enclosure permit follows the pool permit by a median of 77 days

Across all 6,841 matched projects, the enclosure permit is issued a median of 77 days after the pool permit roughly eleven weeks. A quarter of projects clear it inside 38 days. A quarter take more than 152.

That gap splits into two parts, and the larger one is not the county:

  • 48 days pool permit issued, to enclosure permit applied for. This is the decision and scheduling window.
  • 23 days enclosure application to issuance. This is county review.

What this figure does not tell you

These are permit dates, not construction dates. Collier County records show when a permit was issued, not when the work was finished every enclosure permit in this dataset carries an Issued status with no final inspection date. Screen contractors also routinely pull the permit early and then wait until the pool deck passes inspection before starting. The physical enclosure therefore goes up some distance beyond the 77 days, and this data cannot measure that distance.

What the 77 days does tell you is the paperwork sequence, and that sequence varies enormously depending on one thing.

Only 2.1% of the time does the same company build the pool and the cage. It is almost always a handoff to a specialist aluminum contractor, and how well-rehearsed that handoff is drives the whole timeline.

71 days vs 148 days

Median days from pool permit to enclosure permit. Builders who send half or more of their cage work to a single contractor clear it in 71 days. Builders who spread it across many contractors take 148.

The question worth asking before you sign

Ask your pool builder who does their screen enclosures, and how often. If they name one company without hesitating, the permit record says your paperwork clears about ten weeks sooner than if they shop it out job by job.

Finding 03

Your community matters more than you would guess

A fourteen-fold range. Communities where the builder cages the house as part of delivery finish fast; communities where buyers add enclosures after closing run long. Both patterns are normal knowing which one you are in is what matters.

Finding 04

Permit review has more than doubled since 2020

Median days from application to issuance on a Collier County aluminum structure permit, every year since 2020. Six consecutive years, no reversals.

Median days, application to issuance. 2026 covers January through June.

This is the county queue, not your contractor. Build it into your expectations: a permit filed today takes about a month to come back, and that month sits in front of the work, not inside it.

Building the pool first?

The enclosure is the second half of a pool project. If you have not broken ground yet, our sister site tracks how long Collier County pool builds actually take, from permit to swim date, using the same permit records behind this page.

Common questions

Do I need a permit for a pool enclosure in Collier County?

Yes. A screen enclosure or aluminum structure requires a building permit from Collier County Growth Management, and it must meet Florida wind-load requirements. Every contractor on this page has a verifiable permit history.

How long after my pool permit will the enclosure be permitted?

A median of 77 days across 6,841 matched projects, with the middle half falling between 38 and 152 days. Note this is permit to permit it measures when the enclosure permit was issued, not when the enclosure was finished. Where you land depends heavily on whether your pool builder uses a regular enclosure partner and which community you are building in.

Does my pool builder also build the screen enclosure?

Almost never. In only 2.1% of matched projects did the same company pull both permits. It is nearly always a handoff to a specialist aluminum contractor, which is why asking who your builder works with is worth doing early.

Why are some enclosure companies missing?

This ranking includes only contractors who pulled at least five permits between January 2024 and June 2026. A further 216 contractors pulled at least one permit in that window but fall below that threshold, and 146 more have permits on record before 2024 but none since.

Are these rankings paid or sponsored?

No. There are no paid placements and no sponsored positions. Every figure comes from public Collier County permit records matched to the Property Appraiser tax roll.

How much does a pool enclosure cost in Naples?

Declared construction values on Collier permits run from roughly $6,200 at the 25th percentile to $15,300 at the 75th, with a median near $10,000. Declared value is what the applicant reports for permitting and is generally lower than a retail contract price.

Is a pool enclosure required in Collier County?

An enclosure specifically is not, but a barrier is. Collier County requires an approved pool barrier to be in place and inspected at the final electrical inspection before the pool can be filled and finaled. A screen enclosure is the most common way to meet it; a compliant fence or wall, or an approved safety pool cover, also qualify. Pool alarms are inspected as part of the same process rather than as a substitute for the barrier.

If my yard is already fenced, do I still need an enclosure?

Not necessarily. An existing compliant fence, or dwelling walls that enclose the pool, can satisfy the barrier requirement without a new permit which is why this data shows enclosure rates falling as lot sizes rise. Your inspector makes the call, so confirm before assuming an existing fence qualifies.

Does the enclosure hold up my pool's final inspection?

It can. Because the pool cannot be finaled until an approved barrier is in place, whichever barrier you choose sits on the critical path to your certificate of completion. If your enclosure is the barrier, the pool is not signed off until the enclosure is.

Does this cover the City of Naples and Marco Island?

No. Both operate their own building departments. This data covers unincorporated Collier County, which includes most addresses with a Naples mailing address but not properties inside the city limits of Naples or Marco Island.
